SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS 1 - 12 X 12 inches FRAMED:
Created with Orchid blossoms, eucalyptus leaves, and highly textured moss mounds. These natural elements are set against a canvas of vibrant greens, yellows, and tonal mixtures, enhanced by willow branches. Canvas floater frame.
In "Secret Life of Plants," I explore the profound interconnectedness between human creativity and the natural world through the deliberate use of nature-based materials. This body of work challenges the conventional boundaries between artist and medium, suggesting that true artistic expression arises not from imposing our will on materials, but from entering into dialogue with them.
These materials carry within them the memory of seasons, storms, and sunlight—stories that synthetic alternatives cannot replicate. The value of art created with nature-based materials extends beyond aesthetic consideration. Through this work, I argue that art's most significant value lies not in permanence or perfection, but in its ability to make visible the miraculous processes that surround us daily. By choosing materials that connect us directly to the earth, we create not just objects of beauty, but bridges between human consciousness and the vast intelligence of the natural world.
